Manifesta: An Event Management Platform Using Recommendation System

An event management service can give smart cities a robust and secure foundation to manage events in any environment without the hassle and in a smart way by using an online platform. A new event-driven platform for smart cities is proposed in this paper for simplifying event management services. This paper proposes an intelligent website named “Manifesta” for event management services that would enable an intelligent environment for event management. Through this website, businesses can grow and increase their revenue through web presence. Manifesta website offers various event management services like booking photographers, decorators, caterers, etc. all in one place. This website’s backend is developed using the Django framework and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies are used for frontend development. To enable the creation of personalized product suggestions and suggest more relevant items, this work uses a recommendation system. Apriori and the FP-Growth algorithm are compared to create an efficient recommendation system. This paper examines these algorithms and compares the efficiency of both algorithms in terms of time and support. As a result of the algorithm, frequent item sets are extracted from the available dataset, and association rules are detected. The Manifesta website is user-friendly and encourages greater interaction with customers due to the presence of a chatbot that is developed using Microsoft Azure services.
