Applications of 3D Printing in Medical, Engineering, Agricultural, and Other Sectors

Three-dimensional (3D) printing is a procedure of manufacturing a 3D object by laying down a number of material layers. The 3D image is modeled and after slicing the 3D printing machine prints the modeled object. This process is coming under the umbrella of Digital Fabrication technologies. These technologies are applied to various applications starting from small nut to big house, for example, recently, the post office printed with this technology in Bengaluru. This chapter discusses the applications of the 3D printing in various sectors such as medicine, epidemic disease accessories, dental implants, agriculture, aerospace, etc., which is helpful to new entrants of this study and new researchers to understand the basics of digital fabrication and 3D printing.
