Conclusions and Prospects

In the seventh chapter, the book’s main conclusions are presented, combining the different syntheses presented in the previous chapters, emphasising the four elements of the morphological invariants, and proposing the concept of ‘third authenticity’ of traditional Chinese settlement forms. This chapter includes an outlook on future lines of research into China’s historic rural landscapes.
