Artificial Intelligence in Genomic Studies

The presented chapter sheds some insight on some of the recent Artificial Intelligence (AI) based breakthroughs in the field of genomics. First section of the chapter gives brief overview of some of the most extensively used AI-based techniques, followed by application of these AI techniques on various genome analysis and prediction task such as: genome wide association studies, DNA-classification, protein function/structure prediction, QTL/gene finding and protein interaction along with some case studies. Furthermore, the future scope of AI techniques in the field of structural, functional and regulatory genomics have been discussed in the later part of the chapter.
