摘要

When it comes to designing products, AI is ushering in a whole new era of innovation and efficiency. Several fascinating case studies and applications are discussed in this chapter to illustrate the profound impact that AI has had on the creative process. The many uses of AI are demonstrated, from boosting creativity to enhancing supply chain management and manufacturing. Its revolutionary potential to speed up the creation of new items, from demand forecasting to usability refinement, will ultimately lead to higher-quality goods and more options for consumers. The chapter also provides a debate on how it has become increasingly clear that ML implementation into the design of digital products is a key to their success. Designers are at the vanguard of this technological transformation; therefore, they need a deep understanding of AI and the skills to put it to good use. By going above and beyond user expectations and improving data quality for ML algorithms, designers may acquire trust through smart interface design. The chapter stresses the critical significance of AI concepts in this context. Large corporations have adopted broad AI principles that center on fairness, openness, responsibility, privacy, and broader societal benefits. One can look at Open AI, Google, Microsoft, DeepMind, and Facebook as some examples. These principles are more than just a matter of legal compliance; they provide a road map for creating ethical AI. Finally, this chapter closes on showing how AI’s transformative potential, when paired with morally acceptable norms, might usher in a new era of innovation and accountability in the product design environment.
