Reusability Study of 3D Printing Mould and Resin Casting for Takraw Ball Launcher Wheel
摘要
In this study, we developed three types of 3D printed mould to develop a wheel launcher for Sepak takraw ball launcher using resin casting. This study aims to determine the reusability and feasibility of using resin on each mould for developing a curve wheel launcher for better adhesion and launching. The wheel and the moulds were printed using Fuse Deposition Method, and the resin used for resin casting is polyurethane. Each mould design consists of a different number of outer, inner, and bottom walls. After the resin was cast, design 3 failed to form a complete wheel, whereas only 70% of the resin could form at the outer layer of the inner wheel due to leaks, but the mould is reusable. For design 1 and 2, both designs were able to fabricate a completed curved wheel with minor leaks, but the mould needed to be broken into pieces after the resin was cured to obtain the wheel. In conclusion, design 1 and 2 is feasible to be used as fabricated casted wheel but failed for reusability of mould. In contrast, for design 3, the reusability of the mould is good, but it failed to provide a complete wheel due to a higher number of sections and poor bottom mould design.
