The Influence of Body Balance Towards the Golf Putting Performance
摘要
Putting is a golf stroke that is performed on a green, which is where the target hole is located. Putting, unlike other golf strokes, allows the golf ball to roll into the hole by following the contour of the green. Putting necessitates a great level of precision, which includes the movement of the golfer’s arms, upper body parts, and body balance. Investigation was conducted in this paper to compare the golf putting performance when the body balance is altered. The body balance was altered by attaching a 1.5 kg weight band to the golfer’s arm. The putting performance was evaluated based on the putting outcome and the arm movement. The arm movement was measured using the MbientLab MetaMotionS (MMS) sensor while the putting outcome was considered successful if the ball ended in the targeted hole. The results show that the weight had a substantial influence on the putting outcome but relatively minor changes in the arm movement.
