Design and Analysis of Single and Multi-Band Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna Using Coplanar Wave Guide

For use in ultra-wideband (UWB) applications, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed elliptical slot antenna with a wide tunable dual band-notched function and frequency reconfigurable feature is devised. With an S-shaped resonator etched into the circular ring radiation patch and a parallel stub-loaded resonator etched into the CPW transmission line, the dual band-notched function is made possible. It has been shown that introducing a pair of shuntly connected slots across the host CPW’s slots results in the creation of a reconfigurable device. Using electromagnetic simulations, the design technique has been verified.
