Rectangular and Cylindrical Slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna Design for Biomedical Application

摘要

This paper proposes a microstrip circular patch antenna at 2.45 GHz. Microstrip patch antenna is used due to its low profile, conformability, and ease of fabrication. The proposed antenna is designed for the biomedical application for the industrial, scientific, and medical bands. It can be used inside or outside the body for detecting any tumor or disease. The bending result shows that it can be planted anywhere inside the body. Circular slots in the patch are cut for achieving miniaturization. The Rogers 3010 substrate has been used for designing the Antenna due to its biocompatibility nature. The achieved return loss is − 47 dB at the resonating frequency of 2.45 GHz. The achieved directivity of the antenna is 5.38 dB for the bending analysis applications.
