Regression Analysis on Synthesis of Biodiesel from Rice Bran Oil
摘要
In today’s world, due to the rising trend of modernization, industrialization, and constantly expanding human population, the demand for fossil fuels for energy production and other applications is increasing exponentially. Many countries are now focusing on promoting alternative renewable fuels in place of fossil fuels. Biodiesel is an alternate option that is derived from renewable biomass sources. A study is carried out to identify the adequate treatment condition and the significance of different factors to obtain a high yield of biodiesel from rice bran oil (RBO) using multivariate linear regression analysis (Ahmed Elgharbawy in J Petrol Min Eng 22(2):92–99, 2020). It predicts the yield response at different conditions and factors without doing the related experiment. Regression analysis checks the variation of biodiesel yield response when one of the factors changes, while the remaining factors are kept constant. With the help of the ‘MS Excel’ data analysis tool pack, regression analysis is done to observe the statistically significant effects of alcohol to oil molar ratio, catalyst amount, reaction time, and reaction temperature. A comparative study is carried out to identify the yield response obtained using transesterification and regression data analysis at different treatment conditions for error analysis.
