Performance Analysis of Fuzzy Logic with P&O MPPT for Grid-Connected Solar PV System Under Varying Solar Irradiance
摘要
Despite many advantages of the solar system, some issues like low voltage generation and variability in generation due to the output from the sun not being constant throughout the day lead to instability in the complete system. Power electronics interfaces, such as DC-DC boost converter and DC-AC converter, are used to obtain the desired voltage. Moreover, several maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods are used for tracking maximum power from the solar photovoltaic (PV) system. In this work, performance study of fuzzy logic control with P&O MPPT techniques had been undergone in a single-phase grid-connected PV system. A DC-DC boost converter is used with an MPPT controller which functions in regulating the constant output low voltage obtained from the sun and tracking the maximum amount of power from the PV cells with fuzzy logic and P&O controller. Both MPPT-based controllers with grid-connected system are being studied, and a comparative analysis between them has been presented in this paper. The results of both fuzzy logic controllers and P&O are compared under different atmospheric conditions, and the best method for MPPT is been identified. The results are tested with the simulation in MATLAB Simulink.
