Design of Regenerative Snubber Circuit for Motor Drivers
摘要
This paper presents a method for recovery of energy from DC motor which otherwise is lost as heat across the switch during turn on. Hard switching results in high voltage stress across power switch while connected to an inductive load like the motor. This paper presents method for optimal minimization of resistive losses in the snubber resistor by the way of recovering the energy present in the transient. Experimental results show a peak energy recovery of 85.20 milli watt at 70% duty cycle when the inductive load (motor in this case) is subjected to a load Torque of 1.8 kg-m at 1000 rpm.
