摘要

Recurrent pterygium refers to pterygium recurrence following resection operation of primary pterygium. Recurrent pterygium, which differs pathologically from primary pterygium, is a fibrous vascular tissue growing on the cornea without elastic degeneration. It mainly infiltrates the superficial sclera and Tenon’s capsule downward and invades the corneal stroma to firmly adhere to the underlying tissue.
