Primary Pterygium Surgery

Surgery is the only effective treatment for pterygium. Common surgical procedures for pterygium in clinical practice at home and abroad include simple pterygium excision, pterygium excision with bioamnion transplantation, pterygium excision with free conjunctival flap autograft, pterygium excision with limbal stem cell transplantation, etc. Although the latter two procedures are most widely used, they are still associated with a certain recurrence rate and less than satisfactory in terms of aesthetics and postoperative pain.
