摘要

This chapter describes the development of an animated video to help clinicians become more aware of and sensitised to the cultural needs of Indigenous and First Nations consumers. Addressing a critical issue that faces many patients from the non-dominant culture, the QUT Design Lab team worked closely with an Aboriginal nurse who highlighted the critical need to gently make clinicians aware of their potential racism and cultural bias when dealing with consumers. The chapter tells the story of the development of the animation, from its initial conception as a trilogy of videos through various issues, into its final product as a single video with a singular animation style that is now being successfully used for clinician training.
