Effect of Synthesis Conditions on the Photoluminescent Properties of Eu Doped Gadolinium Oxide Phosphors
摘要
Herein, the effect of the synthesis parameters such as pH and temperature variation on the luminescent characteristics of Eu-doped Gd2O3 phosphors has been reported. Samples were prepared via co-precipitation synthesis route. To avoid the chances of concentration quenching, Eu-dopant amount was set to 4 mol%. Various properties such as structural, morphological, and luminescent properties have been investigated with different techniques. X-ray diffraction results confirmed the cubic phase of Gd2O3 and hexagonal phase corresponding to Gd(OH)3. Field emission electron microscopy revealed the rod-like morphology for samples synthesized at pH = 10. The samples were excited at 250 nm and exhibited intense emission band matching with Eu-ion 5D0 → 7F2 transitions. All the results are discussed in detail.
