Tm3+/Dy3+/Tb3+ Doped Barium Zinc Phosphate Glasses for Multicolor Emission
摘要
A series of co-doped/tri-doped doped barium zinc phosphate (BZT) glasses was successfully synthesized through the melt quenching technique and their emission properties were investigated in detail. The Tm3+/Dy3+ co-doped ZBT glasses emission spectra were measured by monitoring n-UV excitation at 358 nm. The emission profile revealed emission bands due to both Tm3+ and Dy3+. By tuning the Dy3+ concentration in Tm3+/Dy3+ co-doped ZBT glasses, the intensity of emission bands altered. The energy transfer among Tm3+/Dy3+ was found dipole-quadrupole in nature confirmed through Dexter and Reisfeld's theory. The values of lifetime decay, energy transfer efficiencies, and probability rates were calculated. Tm3+/Dy3+/Tb3+ tri-doped ZBT glass revealed Tb3+ emission band in-addition to Tm3+ and Dy3+ emission bands. The evaluated CIE chromaticity coordinates reveal that muti-color emission can be obtained from ZBT glass. The results indicate that co-doped and tri-doped glasses is a potential candidate for multicolor emission under n-UV excitation.
