Sustainability of Biomass

The chapter focuses on the relation between biomass energy and CO2 emissions, types of biomass, composition of biomass, energy from biomass, global biomass production, technologies for converting biomass to bioenergy, biomass utilization, sustainability of multifaceted usage, approaches for improving biomass production, limitations of biomass usage, and sustainability analysis. The usage of biomass is growing in popularity and is being accepted widely since it is a green technology. Biomass materials are thought to be an affordable substitute for traditional materials for domestic and industrial uses. Beyond laboratory efforts, a sustainable plan must be created to accommodate multifaceted use of biomass. This study looked at whether or not the supply of biomass can support its many uses. It also looked at ways to make sure biomass is used sustainably. Various policies were emphasized and explored in light of the ongoing, varied use of biomass. The present work has attempted to create an awareness of the potential of biomass and it utilization around the world.
