This chapter is going to address an overview of recent transistor design for display applications, especially by focusing on the transition from OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) to QLED (Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diode) technology. To a large extent, this chapter will explore the fundamental principles behind transistor operation in display devices and examines the unique characteristics and challenges associated with each technology. The paper also discusses the advancements in transistor design that have led to improved performance, energy efficiency, and picture quality in modern display devices. By understanding the underlying principles and design considerations, this paper aims to shed light on the evolving landscape of display technology.
