Heterojunction Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors (TFETs) and Applications

Heterojunction tunnel field-effect transistors, or TFETs, are a class of semiconductor devices that show great promise for the development of low-power electronics in the future. This book chapter gives a thorough introduction to TFETs, emphasizing their various applications, fabrication methods, device architectures, and working principles. Furthermore, the current chapter examines the several uses that TFET technology makes possible. TFETs provide special advantages in terms of energy efficiency, compactness, and compatibility with current semiconductor technologies, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from biomedical implants and energy harvesting systems to low-power electronics for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and wearable technology.
