Evaluation

  • Taro Komatsu

摘要

Evaluation is necessary to improve the effectiveness of an intervention and to meet stakeholders’ accountability. A logical framework effectively ensures that an educational intervention has a clear goal and is relevant to local needs and context. This is especially true for social cohesion education, as social cohesion is a broad term that can be interpreted differently. A logical framework would allow key stakeholders, including service recipients, to discuss and agree on what the intervention is trying to achieve and align outcomes, outputs, activities, and inputs. When evaluating the impact of an intervention, an experimental study is considered the most reliable method. However, caution must be exercised when using it, as it may exclude certain populations affected by the intervention, which can harm social cohesion.
