Anesthetic Considerations for a Patient with Carcinoma Esophagus Scheduled for Ivor-Lewis Esophagectomy

A 62 year old male patient, known case of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, presents with chief complaints of difficulty in swallowing (solid>liquid), weight loss and loss of appetite for last 4 months. Patient has been diagnosed as a case of adenocarcinoma of lower third of esophagus. He has completed neoadjuvant chemoradiation 8 weeks back. He has been posted for Ivor Lewis Esophagectomy.
