Anaesthetic Considerations for a Child with Retinoblastoma for Orbital Enucleation
摘要
Retinoblastoma comprises 6% of paediatric malignancies under 5 years. Advanced cases can lead to severe complications and mortality without treatment. Treatment aims to preserve life and vision, often involving chemotherapy, rediotherapy, intravitreal melphalan, intraarterial melphalan and enucleation for advanced cases. Anaesthetic concerns & management of a 10-month-old boy with unilateral retinoblastoma for primary enucleation, with no prior chemotherapy or radiotherapy is addressed in this chapter.
