摘要

In the current investigation, corrosion behaviour of NiCr and Rocdur625 coated nickel superalloy (Superni 76) was analyzed under medical waste incinerator and simulated environment. The procedure of burning medical waste at elevated temperatures leads to conditions which are very corrosive in nature and may cause damage to the exposed components of incinerator. The chemical reaction taking place inside the incinerator also leads to test the coatings for biomedical applications. Therefore, this experiment was performed to analyze the performance of both the coatings Ni20%Cr and Rocdur625 and the substrate, and to compare the results of different environments respectively. Master jet coatings technique using flexicords was used to coat the samples. Thermogravimetric analysis, SEM, EDS and XRD of the samples were studied to understand the underlying reasons of corrosion. The characterization depicts Rocdur625 coatings on Superni 76 performed better under rigorous conditions in both environments.
