摘要

When cancer is identified early, the chances of survival improve. However, almost half of all malignancies are identified at an advanced stage. Early identification of cancer or precancerous changes allows for early action to try to reduce or prevent the progression of cancer and death. Several obstacles must be solved in order to obtain early identification of all cancers. It is critical to gain a better understanding of who is most vulnerable to cancer. To identify significant disease that demands intervention, we also need to understand the characteristics of cancer and focus on different aspects of screening and early diagnosis of cancer including tumor biomarkers, biosensors, and imaging techniques and course of early- and precancer. To promote practical clinical implementation; insights must be transformed into sensitive, targeted, early diagnosis devices and carefully evaluated. Advances in technology and biological understanding underscore the need to speed up early diagnosis research and transform cancer survival.
