摘要

This study compares dynamic responses for monolithic and corrugated sandwich plates when brought to air blast conditions. Corrugated structures have higher strength than monolithic plates with lower density. The rectangular core and the 60ο inner angle trapezoidal core of two distinct corrugated panels are modeled in the ANSYS workbench. Explicit dynamics and non-linear finite element method is used to perform blast loading simulations. Euler and Lagrange interaction method is adapted for the present study. Mid-point displacement of all three different panels, viz. monolithic, rectangular core corrugated, trapezoidal corrugated core sandwich corrugated of the face sheets, are examined. At various impulse levels, the residual deflection of the rear face sheet of both corrugated panels is investigated. The displacement resistance of rectangular core corrugated core sandwich panels is higher than that of monolithic plates.
