Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Large Elastic–Plastic Deformation
摘要
The capability of numerical approach (cell-based smoothed finite element method) is investigated for the large elastic plastic deformation in the flat plate dog-bone specimen of mild steel. Plasticity formulation is based on the Von-Mises yield criteria and follows the associated flow rule. Isotropic hardening behavior is considered for the mild steel material. The tensile test experiment is performed on the Zwick/Roell 250KN universal testing machine at a constant speed. The full field strain profile of the gauge section is investigated using non contacting measurement technique (Digital Image Correlation). Finally, the true stress–strain behaviour obtained from the numerical approach is compared against the experimental results.
