Feasibility Assessment on Electronic Waste (EW) as a Partial Reduction for Coarse Aggregate (CA) in Concrete

Electronic waste consists of wrecked or undesirable substances with heavy metals that includes processers, electrical and electronic gadgets, and other microelectronic items rejected by their original users. The recycling of electronic waste becomes necessary because of it is available in huge quantities. Aluminium, bronze, gold, silver, resins, and ferrous metals are just a few of the valuable, reusable materials that can be found in waste that has been discarded. All across the world, discarded waste disposal is a routine occurrence. The usage of discarded waste materials is only a piece of the puzzle when it arises to ecological and natural challenges. Concrete is the most significant engineering material, and changing the concrete philosophy may be more achievable by adding or replacing some of the ingredients. In this research, concrete replacing by EW as a limited replacement for substitutions of coarse aggregate (CA) with EW on M30 grade concrete and corresponding compressive strength was investigated. The concrete gains higher compressive strength after 20% fractional reduction of coarse aggregate with EW at three, seven, 14, and 28 days. The optimum per centage of the EW was found to be 20% at 28 days. This study helps to achieve triple R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) in waste management process.
