摘要

Brown coastal algae is high in vitamins and minerals and has been used in the concrete. Calcium carbonate and calcium silicate are present in coastal algae. Marine algae are utilised as an additional material in concrete. In this present study, marine algae is added to concrete at a rate of 5%, 10%, and 15% in the M40, M45, and M50 grades of concrete. Compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, and deflection were tested with these three different percentages of addition of marine brown algae with these three different types of concrete. When the results were compared, the 5 per cent and 10 per cent additions of algae show lesser strength then the 15 per cent addition of algae in concrete.
