Rescuing Our Own Visual Heritage: Memoirs of a Taiwanese Folk Image Preservation Movement

“Battle to Rescue Family Videos” began as a social movement aimed at preserving Taiwanese common people’s culture through the preservation of family movies. The movement has since grown to include participants from schools, the wider community, intellectuals, and average citizens. This chapter describes the origin, development, and future vision of the movement, as well as its cultural significance and aesthetic contemplations.
