Others, a Night in Tokyo, Coconut Forest and Tigers: Observations of a Pseudo-Tourist

This chapter uses fiction to suggest that the archive is a collection of dream residues and uses decomposed colonial texts to construct a “contact zone.” By comprising texts and the historical contexts they allude to, this new composition attempts to establish an interwoven and polemic historico-geographical space–time. The chapter draws on the idea of “building decomposed bodies into new assemblages” and raises questions about the relationships built on those pathways, their directions and the separated people.
