Applications of Adaptable Design

Since introduction of the adaptable design (AD) concept by Gu and Hashemian [3], significant progress has been made in development of methodologies and computer tools for adaptable design. Many applications have also been implemented based on the research results. In this chapter, some major applications are selected to show how the methods of adaptable product modeling, adaptability evaluation, adaptable design process, and adaptable design tools explained in Chaps. 2 – 5 were applied to solve engineering problems.
