Novels and Prose in the Yuan Dynasty

The dominant form of novels in the Yuan Dynasty was storytelling script, which was divided into “fiction” and “historical tale”. Fiction was further divided into nine variants, while historical tales were further divided into eight variants, of which six variants were known as “monologue storytelling”.
