摘要

Numerical analysis has been carried out for the vitrified waste product storage vault. Four canister numbers are stored one above the other at a single storage location. The centreline temperature of vitrified waste product is the controlling parameter. The maximum centreline temperature should not exceed 500 °C (Mishra et al. in Int J Therm Sci 173:107429, 2022 [1]). The temperature profile is obtained at different power levels by varying the velocity in the annular region. The maximum centreline temperature is obtained to be 326 °C for an annulus velocity of 0.5 m/s at the maximum expected heat generation rate of 1.8 kW. The blockage of one of the two vault outlets can cause a drop-in flow rate by 20% to 22%.
