Mechanical Circulatory Support in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care
摘要
Children with cardiac diseases or post-cardiac surgery may suffer from severe circulatory failure refractory to conventional medical therapies. In the last few decades, mechanical circulatory support has evolved as a new field permitting deployment of different devices that can help children in (1) bridging to recovery from their critical compromised hemodynamic condition, or (2) bridging until a heart transplantation can be performed, or (3) bridging until critical decisions can be made in regard to final goals of care.
