Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in PCICU
摘要
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a complex life-support technique using a modified heart-lung bypass machine to provide temporary respiratory and if necessary cardiac support to patients with intractable, but reversible cardiorespiratory failure. It aims to take over the function of the lung and/or heart allowing time and the milieu for damaged organs to recover whilst minimizing further iatrogenic injury.
