Introduction and Objective of the Handbook of Islamic Philosophy of Science

The field of Islamic Philosophy of Science (IPS) in the light of the Qur’an is introduced here to be used throughout this Handbook. A few important terms and concepts are laid down for ready reference as we proceed on in this work. In establishing the qur’anic outlook in IPS distinctive comparative and contrasting worldviews emerge. This puts into serious criticism several of the outlook used by Western philosophy of science in respect of the socio-scientific world-system.
