Role of Synbiotics in Metabolic Disorders
摘要
Metabolic disorders have reached epidemic proportions worldwide, making them one of the twenty-first century’s most serious public health issues. The prevalence percentage ranges from 20 to 45. Metabolic disorders that are complex illnesses defined by interrelated metabolic anomalies such as obesity, hyperlipidemia, inflammation, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease are the majorly observed metabolic disorders. Various lifestyle and dietary factors are responsible for it. Because of these expanding health issues, it is essential to look for effective prevention and treatment approaches. To address rising healthcare costs, one of the preventive approaches to medicine has been created with the introduction of novel synbiotic products. Synbiotics refer to the synergistic effect of probiotics and prebiotics, which have various therapeutic benefits and have been used in order to prevent or human illness therapy throughout the past 10 years. This chapter presents evidence on synbiotics concerning obesity, hyperlipidemia, inflammation, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. It also highlights the status of probiotics in clinical trials related to these diseases.
