摘要

Inorganic nanoparticles like metal and metal oxide nanoparticles are one of the best theranostics particles that within the nanosize range show dynamic properties like optical, fluorescence, contrast imaging, drug delivery, photothermal, and hyperthermia. Because of this, phytoconstituents are mostly being loaded onto these nanoparticles and plant extract employed for the synthesis of nanoparticles by green method to treat a variety of pathogenic and non-pathogenic diseases. There is no question that phytoconstituents possess therapeutic properties when used alone, but due to their low solubility, stability, partition coefficient, and bioavailability at the site of the disease, they require a suitable drug delivery system. To cure diseases like cancer and microbial or Alzheimer’s disease, the general characteristics and production of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles are outlined in this chapter. Further, examples of delivery of phytoconstituents using metal or metal oxide nanoparticles are explained.
