Management of Oral and Head and Neck Cancers and a Surgical Perspective of Dental Rehabilitation
摘要
Head and neck cancer (HNC) account for more than 6,50,000 new cases and 3,30,000 deaths annually [1]. Anatomically, the head and neck regions consist of several distinct sites from where tumours arise, viz., nasal cavity, sinuses, oral cavity (lips, mouth, tongue, hard palate, gums) salivary glands, pharynx (nasopharynx, oropharynx including base of tongue, tonsils, soft palate, and hypopharynx), and the larynx. Oral cancer accounts for 50% of India’s head neck cancer burden.
