Molecular Taxonomy and Forensic Entomology: Where We Stand Today
摘要
Molecular taxonomy has become an essential tool today in forensic entomology in identifying museum and live specimens and identifying several life cycle stages and mature and immature forms. The importance of molecular taxonomy lay in identifying specimens that are otherwise difficult to be detected by morphology. We discuss in this chapter the different applications of molecular taxonomy in diverse species identification, in adult and immature forms and their application in forensic entomology.
