Integration of Classical and Quantum Network Simulator: ns3 with NetSquid

摘要

Major day-to-day applications that a user uses do the deterministic work like sending mails and watching videos. Our existing classical computers are very well suited for the deterministic work; on the other hand, quantum computers are well suited for the probabilistic computations and can perform quantum protocols like superdense coding protocol which encodes two classical bits into one qubit, and by using superdense coding, we can accelerate the data rate in a network. Since a good part of the user wants to do the usual deterministic work but requires fast Internet, we have proposed an architecture to integrate ns3 (a classical network simulator) with NetSquid (a quantum network simulator) in a way that the data link and the physical layer of classical network are replaced by the quantum layer. The proposed architecture will provide a familiar classical environment to the end-users along with an advancement in the underlying network.
