A Systematic Literature Review on Social Network Security Challenges and Solutions

With the advancement in communication technology and smart digital devices, there is a tremendous raise in the users of social networking platforms. Social networks are significantly used for collaboration, mass communication, knowledge sharing, relationship binding, emotional expression, interest sharing, currently advertising companies using social network to increase the popularity of brands and marketing. Also, significant group of users such as celebrities, political leaders, social icons exert platform as an online favorite space to express themselves. Twitter is the one of the popular platforms used by celebrities. With the abrupt popularity of social networks have attracted cyber criminals to exploit the social network users with respect to privacy and security. This is a crisis for the users of social network technology. So, the objective of the article is to review the modern social network concepts, security challenges and solutions. The systematic literature review (SLR) of 50 selected papers, published from 2012 to 2021 is done to properly understand the nuances of the social networks. The article assists researchers who would like to begin their research carrier in social networks.
