Analysis of Differential Evolution Optimization-Based Cascade Controller for Frequency Regulation of Power System

摘要

The analysis of a cascade PI-PD controller with DE optimization for LFC is addressed in this research paper. The study takes a 2-area system into consideration. By applying ITAE as the objective function and the DE method, PI-PD controller gains are optimized. It has been found that using DE-tuned PI-PD controllers, as illustrated in various PS responses, produces the best results for peak overshoot (Mp) and settling time (Ts) with 10% (area-1) and 20% (area-2) SLP. The study found that for the same PS, the proposed method outperforms the recently published FA-PI, hBFOA-PSO-PI, and BFOA-PI controllers.
