Dielectric Integrated Dielectric Resonator Antenna

With the rapid development of modern communications, there is an increasing demand for portable mobile devices. Dielectric resonators designed using low loss (and high dielectric constant materials are widely used in filters and oscillators. As Q ≈ 1/tan δ shows, these dielectric resonators have a high quality factor of Q. On the other hand, if a dielectric resonator is placed in an open environment, the quality factor of the lower order modes of the resonator will decrease rapidly (Q ≈ 10–100) because energy is lost in the radiation field.
