MT-Oriented Analysis of Chunk Composition in Business Correspondences

This chapter gives an MT-oriented analysis of chunk composition in business English letters, which mainly examines the relationship between chunks and constructions from the perspective of construction grammar, in an attempt to propose a theoretical model for chunk composition and to discuss the definition and criteria of chunks in business English letters in MT, providing theoretical support for related studies. The book mainly relies on a self-built English-Chinese parallel corpus of business correspondences with a total of about 1 million words, providing a rich resource for the MT-oriented study of corresponding lexical chunks in business correspondences from English to Chinese.
