Portal Cranes

This chapter introduces the type, application, main technical parameters, classification group, structural construction, and working principle of the portal crane, and analyzes in detail the operating mechanisms, metal structure, electrical control system, auxiliary devices, wheel load and stability, and productivity of the portal crane. Based on the operating characteristics of different portal cranes, the structure and principle of the main mechanisms, metal structures, and auxiliary devices of the general portal crane, kangaroo portal crane, and multipurpose portal crane are introduced, and the standards specifications related to the design and use of portal cranes are listed.
