摘要

The interest in quality infrastructure (QI) has increased significantly over the last decade among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and development cooperation organizations. This has sparked a growing demand for QI data since it can be used for many applications. Different organizations (international, regional, and national) generate, collect, and curate QI data. However, there is a high level of heterogeneity regarding the quality of data collected, the transparency and availability of the data, and the way the data is presented. This is a hindrance to data comparison and statistical analysis. This paper discusses the state of the art of QI data. It describes the data available on the different QI components collected by the various organizations that oversee them. It also looks at the availability of this data to the public. In addition, the paper describes the Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) and the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) Index—two composite indicators that measure QI development.
