Design of Instruments with Variable Stiffness for Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES)

With the technological innovation and the development of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) concept, researchers have further proposed the Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) which can realize scarless body surface on the basis of traditional peritoneal porous MIS and single-port surgery. Although NOTES provides a better surgical effect, its operation is more difficult, and the existing surgical instruments cannot meet the needs of use.
