The Future of Tourism Education in Argentina in a Post-COVID-19 Context

Tourism education is vital for the prospering future of the industry. Over the years, plenty of works have emphasized the importance of higher tourism education to understand the dilemmas and challenges posed by the tourism industry. Beyond the problems between theory and praxis, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has introduced a set of considerations and new changes that higher education and the curricula have faced. These dilemmas include the lack of programs contemplating future virus outbreaks or safety-security concerns, the rise of unemployment and lack of vocational training or motivation, the higher dropout rates in students, as well as the future of a dying industry. This book chapter deals with these and other themes that interrogate policymakers not only on the future of this industry but also on higher education in Argentina.
